On-Call Mentoring
On-Call Mentoring is an individualized mentorship for newly-trained legal nurse consultants. The program has been developed by Kathy G. Ferrell, BS RN LNCC. Kathy has been a legal nurse consultant for 18 years and has worked with attorneys specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury, and healthcare fraud. She has been deposed numerous times and served as an expert witness in district, state and federal courts.
Kathy has always been interested in quality education for the LNC. She has authored modules for the AALNC on-line educational course and LNCC prep course, and articles for the Journal of Legal Nurse Consulting.
On-Call Mentoring is designed to meet the self-identified needs of the LNC participant. Kathy will help the participant to identify the unique skills and experiences of the LNC which will set the LNC apart from others when seeking new clients, opportunities, and relationships.
On-Call Mentoring is a three-month program with an option to extend to a maximum of six months. The LNC will have unlimited access for mentoring by phone call and email from 10AM – 6 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and by appointment only on Saturday.
All applicants must have completed an entry level LNC course and be proficient in Microsoft Word. An individual plan with objective goals will be designed for each participant. The LNC will be expected to complete all assignments within the mutually agreed upon time frame in order to meet individualized goals. The LNC understands that success is dependent upon following instructions, completing assignments and applying new knowledge and skills to attorney client relationships.
A limited number of participants are selected each quarter. Interested parties must complete an application form and schedule an initial interview. Applicants not selected will be contacted and considered for the next quarter.
